Strength training or Resistance training is the use of resistance to muscular contraction to perform a series of movements for the dumbell02purpose of improving the capabilities and strength of muscles.

There are different methods of strength training:

  • Free weights:  In addition to being inexpensive, they are also flexible allowing us to perform various exercises for many muscle groups with a simple pair of dumbbells. However, improper use and technique of free weights may result in injury.
  • Machines:  These are easy to use and are safe. Their most obvious disadvantage is that they are costly and require space.
  • Bands/tubes:  These are highly portable, inexpensive and safe. Stronger people, though, find it difficult to use them for stimulating larger and stronger muscle groups.
